What is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO)?
A Recovery Community Organization (RCO) is a non-profit, grassroots organization that is run by and for people in recovery. RCOs provide peer-based recovery support, education, and advocacy to individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use disorder. Unlike traditional treatment centers, RCOs focus on empowering people in recovery by creating safe, supportive spaces where they can connect with peers, share experiences, and work together to sustain their recovery.
